Turkish-American Medical Association Celebrates Resounding Success of Annual Gala Honoring Turkish Medicine Day
Weehawken, NJ – April 12, 2025 – The Turkish-American Medical Association (TAMA) proudly announces the triumphant success of its Annual Gala, held on April 12th at the Chart House, in celebration of Turkish Medicine Day (“Tıp Bayramı”). The event brought together nearly one hundred distinguished members of the Turkish-American community, including esteemed physicians, dentists, healthcare professionals, and cherished friends, for an unforgettable evening of cultural pride and community unity.
The gala commenced with a poignant moment of silence in tribute to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye.

TAMA President Dr. S. Eralp Bellibas delivered a compelling address, highlighting the significance of Turkish Medicine Day and its vital role during the Turkish War of Independence. The evening was further enriched by insightful remarks from Consul General Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, whose presence added profound inspiration and context.
In a heartfelt gesture, TAMA presented a thank-you plaque in absentia to its founding president, Dr. Ata Erim, recognizing his unwavering dedication and pivotal contributions to the organization’s achievements.
Guests were treated to a captivating performance by the Eastanbul Band, a sumptuous dinner crafted by the Chart House, and stunning panoramic views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. The evening’s excitement peaked with a thrilling raffle, featuring extraordinary prizes generously donated by Turkish Airlines (two round-trip tickets to Turkey) and Corendon Hotels and Resorts (a luxurious four-night family vacation at their Curaçao resort).
The gala’s remarkable success was made possible by the enthusiastic participation of attendees and the generous support of TAMA’s esteemed sponsors: Olive Oils Land USA (Platinum Sponsor), Turkish Airlines and Corendon Hotels and Resorts (Silver Sponsors), and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities. Their commitment to TAMA’s mission is deeply appreciated and underscores the strength of community partnership.
“This gala was more than an event—it was a vibrant celebration of our rich cultural heritage, the enduring bonds of our community, and the invaluable contributions of our dedicated healthcare professionals,” said Dr. S. Eralp Bellibas, TAMA President. “We are profoundly grateful to our sponsors, members, and supporters for making this evening a testament to our shared values and vision.”
TAMA looks forward to future opportunities to unite and celebrate the Turkish-American community’s legacy and contributions.
