TAMA Shines at 42nd Turkish Day Parade and Festival in New York City
New York, NY – May 17, 2025 – The Turkish American Medical Association (TAMA) proudly participated in the 42nd Turkish Day Parade and Festival on May 17, 2025, in New York City, marking a historic milestone with its first-ever float in the celebration. Organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (TADF), the event brought together thousands of Turkish Americans to honor their heritage and commemorate the 106th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s landing in Anatolia on May 19, 1919, a pivotal moment that ignited Turkey’s War of Independence.
TAMA’s vibrant float, a highlight of the parade, symbolized the organization’s commitment to cultural pride and Turkish American community unity. The festival, filled with music, dance, and traditional Turkish cuisine, showcased the rich heritage of Turkish Americans and their contributions to the United States.
“We are thrilled to have participated in this historic event, celebrating both our cultural roots and the enduring legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk,” said Dr. Eralp Bellibas, President of TAMA. “Our float represents the strength and spirit of the Turkish American medical community, and we look forward to continuing to engage and inspire.”
The 42nd Turkish Day Parade and Festival underscored the unity and resilience of the Turkish American community, with TAMA’s debut float setting a new precedent for its involvement in future celebrations.
